Positive begets positive

Updated: Oct 30, 2020

What kind of energy are you feeling today?

Our primitive brain’s number one job is to keep us alive. One of the ways it does that is to find problems. It’s constantly scanning for the negative, for danger, with the goal of keeping us from moving forward and doing what it considers is risky behavior.

But with the super power of your evolved brain (pre frontal cortex) and with persistence and consistency your brain will learn to do what you tell it to do.

Let’s practice this together this week by intentionally thinking about the positive so we can create more positive. Thinking about our wins and our successes, creates a feeling of celebration which feels good and ultimately trains your brain to go out and create more.

FEELING good is the fuel that propels us into action so we can create more good!

According to Shawn Achor, Positive Psychologist,

“Your brain at positive performs significantly better than it does at negative, neutral or stressed. Your intelligence rises , your creativity rises, your energy rises. Every single business outcome improves.” Here's his Ted talk!

Thinking about our wins might be difficult at first because it’s not natural for your brain.

Here are a few prompts:

~ Did you do something hard, new, figure something out?

~ Have you been consistent? Managed your time or your mind?

~ Did you create value, serve or connect? ~ Were you proactive instead of reactive?

~ Did you show up to your day as the person you want to be?

When we INTENTIONALLY look for our successes we often realize that we have so much more good going on in our life than we thought.

It changes the way we THINK, FEEL and ACT which ultimately changes our lives.

Now lets celebrate together! I’d love to hear about your wins!
